Peugeot 3008 SUV Review
Peugeot’s fifth winner of the prestigious European Car of the Year award, the 3008 is a pure SUV, designed specifically as a highly practical family vehicle. The Peugeot 3008 is one of the prettiest SUVs on the market, both inside and out, but practicality has not suffered in the name of art. Inside, the 3008 is a wonderful place to be, with a full digital cock-pit boasting an 8” touchscreen control panel and a 12.3” digital display.
Performance is a key element of the 3008, which uses its light chassis, Blue HDI turbo engine and an automatic gearbox to produce a smooth, reactive ride without drinking fuel, as many SUVs are prone to do. The safety package, which includes Active Lane Departure Warnings, Blind Spot Monitoring and Active Safety Brakes as standard, as well as 360 degree cameras and adaptive cruise control give you complete piece of mind when your family are on board.
There are three models available, the 1.6 litre petrol 3008 Active, which is the baseline model, offering extraordinary value, and a high level of technology for your money, including dual-zone climate control and 17” alloys. Then there is the Allure model, which comes in both a 1.6 litre diesel and a 1.6 litre petrol engine. Finally, the top of the range 3008 GT model, which uses a 2.0 litre Blue HDI diesel engine, and comes with LED headlights, advanced emergency breaking and bird’s eye cameras, as well as additional styling points, including chrome plated mirrors, 19” alloy wheels and even a 5 mode massage seat!
Overall, it is easy to see why the Peugeot 3008 won the 2017 European Car of the Year – well beyond the eye-catching bodywork, the 3008 works beautifully. The interior is spacious, practical and comfortable, where genuine consideration has been given to the needs of a working family vehicle, whilst the ride remains responsive and nimble, and most importantly, safe.
